Temporary motorhome rental insurance


To offer you total peace of mind, Wikicampers has developed
an insurance contract tailor-made to the rental market.

Wikicampers includes specific temporary insurance for the private rental of motorhomes.
This is a temporary insurance that covers both the clients and the motorhome rented during the rental period, with 24/7 assistance.

Terms & Conditions

The vehicles covered by the insurance policy are:

  • Its gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) must be equal or lower than 3,5 tons (7,700 lb).
  • Its price when new must be €100,000 maximum.
  • It must be registered in France and have a permanent and valid “carte grise” (log book).
  • It must have a valid MOT certificate.
  • It must be registered and validated by the Wikicampers website.

Drivers covered by the insurance must :

  • Be at least 23 years old.
  • Have held a full valid driving licence for at least 3 years.
  • Have sent Wikicampers a copy of their driver's licence and ID before the start of the rental
  • The number of drivers is limited to 2 per rental (no extra charge)
  • Pay Wikicampers, before the start of the rental, a deposit of €2,000 by bank draft or cheque (not cashed) with the same name as on the payment

Assistance

The clients receive full assistance:

  • 24/7 assistance
  • On-site troubleshooting or payment for towing costs to the nearest partner garage
  • Return of the client and passengers to their home address or on-site accommodation for 5 days

If the motorhome is completely immobilized, our policy pays for the transport for the vehicle owner (or another driver) to collect the vehicle after repair. The vehicle is returned to the owner if it cannot be repaired on-site but is repairable in France, within the limits of its replacement value.

Fully comprehensive insurance

Your clients benefit from a fully comprehensive insurance to cover driving the rented vehicle.

The coverage of the rented vehicle is as follows:

  • Damage to the vehicle, fire and theft
  • Broken windows (windscreen, side windows, rear window, headlight optics, sunroof and solar panels)
  • Protection of the client's rights
  • Private contents belonging to the owner within the vehicle up to €1,000

Driver's coverage and coverage for third parties and passengers :

  • Individual driver's coverage up to €150,000
  • Coverage for third parties and passengers in the vehicle without excess and limit: unlimited in physical damage, limited in material damage to €100 million.

Excess

The excess is the amount that must be paid by the client in case of accident only when the driver is responsible or when there is no identified third party. The excess is paid, in total or partially, depending on the driver’s share of responsibility. Each excess applies to one single event. More than one excess can be applied in case of non-related events.

(1) If the driver has had a full driving licence for less than 3 years (at the time of the accident) and is responsible for the accident, an excess of €2,000 applies.
