Terms & Conditions

Drivers covered by the insurance must :

  • be at least 23 years old;
  • have held a full valid driving licence for at least 3 years;
  • have sent Wikicampers a copy of their driving licence and ID before departure (number of drivers is limited to 2 per rental with no extra charge). Renters holding a foreign driving licence must provide an international licence or a valid licence in latin alphabet;
  • have made a €2,000 deposit by credit card or cheque (French cheques only, not cashed) to Wikicampers before departure.

A few tips before you go :

It is important for you to get used to the vehicle specific size and height. Driving along with the owner before leaving, using the backup camera and having your co-pilot helping you to manoeuvre, can definitely help you.

A thorough inventory upon departure and return will also help you to leave serenely :

  • make sure you have at least 1h30 to go through the inventory and do some driving
  • leave in daytime so the light will be good enough to see everything
  • take pictures both when leaving and coming back with the vehicle

Wikicampers will provide you with all necessary documents (rental contract as well as inventory that can also be done through our App).

What to do if you have damaged the vehicle ?

Owner will usually send us the Damage claim form form you would have filled in and signed together upon return. A claim will be opened when receiving all following documents within 48 hours after the end of the rental period :

  • Rental contract filled in and signed by the owner and you
  • Damage claim form form filled in and signed by the owner and you
  • Accident Statement Form if applicable (to be sent by post)
  • Pictures of the damages

Later on, the owner will produce quotes for the repairs which will enable us to rule on the amount of your participation according to our Insurance Terms and Conditions.
Should the initial quote be superior to the insurance excess, an independent expert will be sent to examine the damages.
Our Insurance Service will acknowledge you by email letting you know what are the next steps regarding the file.

Propose your vehicle for rent, we insure it for you

  7. Use our App to prepare easily you inventory and letting your vehicle go serenely.

Terms & Conditions

Vehicles covered by the Insurance policy must :

  • have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) equal or lower than 3,5 tons (7,700 lb) with a French registration (number plate);
  • have a purchase value inferior to €100,000;
  • be registered in France and have a permanent and valid “carte grise” (log book) under owner name;
  • have a valid MOT certificate;
  • be registered and validated by Wikicampers.

Wikicampers will check all renter’s documents (ID and Driving license) to ensure it complies with our Insurance Terms and Conditions.

Some advice before letting your vehicle go :

What to do if your vehicle has been damaged during the rental period ?

You will need to inform us about your vehicle being damaged within 48 hours after the end of the rental period.

A claim will be opened when receiving all following documents at assurance@wikicampers.fr :

  • Rental contract filled in and signed by the owner and you
  • Damage claim form form filled in and signed by the owner and you
  • Accident Statement Form if applicable (to be sent by post)
  • Pictures of the damages

Our Insurance Service will acknowledge your declaration by email within 48 hours asking you as well to provide a quote of repairs.
