Relapse or worsening of a chronic or pre-existing illness, as well as the consequences or after-effects of an accident that occurred prior to taking out the policy

• affecting you, or your spouse/partner;
• your ascendants or descendants up to the 2nd degree, and/or those of your spouse/partner;
• your brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law;
• or your legal guardian.

Insurance applies when the illness or accident formally prevents leaving home, requires medical care, and prevents any professional or other activity.

Illness diagnosed in one of the insured persons (quarantine due to COVID-19 and travel restrictions imposed by authorities, such as lockdowns, are excluded).

Resulting in the absolute cessation of any professional or other activity, provided that at departure the person is not more than 7 months pregnant.

Provided that this decision was not known at the time of booking the vehicle or taking out this policy.

In the following cases:

• jury service or witness summons;
• appointment as an expert, when the hearing date coincides with the booking period.

Following a failure not known at the time of booking or taking out the policy (higher education only), provided the exam takes place during the booking period.

Resulting from:

• burglary with forced entry;
• fire;
• water damage;
• a climatic, meteorological, or natural event.

Directly affecting the following real estate:

• the insured’s primary or secondary residence;
• their farm;
• their business premises if the insured is an artisan, retailer, company director, or self-employed professional.

And requiring their presence on site during the booking period to carry out administrative procedures related to the damage or to restore the damaged property.

Provided the person is registered as a job seeker with Pôle emploi and the job or internship is paid and starts before or during the booking. Changing the type of employment contract is not covered (e.g., converting a fixed-term contract to a permanent one).

Provided those paid leave dates were granted in writing before booking, excluding company directors, self-employed professionals, artisans, and freelance performers.

Any other unforeseeable event that constitutes an immediate, real, and serious obstacle preventing the insured from departing and/or carrying out the planned activities during the booking period.
The unforeseeable event must have a direct causal link with the impossibility of departing.
If the insured cannot establish the reality of the situation giving entitlement to benefits, and the information provided does not prove the facts, the insurer may refuse the claim.
